Yeah, I know I'm falling behind the curve, but here's the video of Sarah Palin -- the real one -- on SNL over the weekend.
Enjoy.
As a bonus, here's her "Weekend Update" appearance from later in the show:
I'm the Catholic, communitarian-leaning, 53-year-old editor of the editorial page of The State, South Carolina's largest newspaper; I am a husband, and the father of five.
Good sport although I don't know if Palin really knew how roasted she was going to be when Amy Poehler broke out that rap. It certainly didn't paint Palin any compliments. Hillarious none the less.
Too bad we have to wait 4 more years before SNL gets funny again.

Interesting that in the past few days Obama revealed the campaign raised 150 million, Colin Powell endorsed Obama, meanwhile McCain and Palin appeared on Letterman and SNL.
On the bright side, atleast they have Rush Limblaugh attacking Powell for putting race over country to score points for McCain and the congresswoman channeling McCarthyism.

The McCain team has finally unleashed its strongest asset. The SNL appearance may not count for a lot even though the New York Times liked it, just a bit of exposure, but even CBS News notes that Palin is more accessible than either Joe Biden or Barack Obama, or even the old guy running with her.
And the press is keeping track of Palin’s responses. Read the whole thing. She did well for a blood-thirsty fundamentalist strumpet, no? Heck, even the New York Times agrees.Posted by: Mike Cakora | Monday, 20 October 2008 at 09:14 PM
How much of Obama's campaign money came from overseas, from Muslims, like the ones who paid for his college and law school education?
The state of Georgia is investigating over 1,200 people for laundering donatsions to Obama from Palestine.
Indianapolis has over 1,200,000 registered voters, and only 600,000 residents, including children. Most of the voters are new this year, registered Democrats, who won the primary for Obama.
Obama stole the primaries, and now the election. He is unfit for office.

The condescending arrogance of the self appointed elite is stomach churning. Does anyone realize that the "party" of inclusiveness and an pen mind is the most hateful, closeminded people around. From the stage at snl to your local paper, the self annointed, self enlightened intellectually superior left looks down on the average person, they just want your vote, don't talk, they'll do that for us..
Fey held her own and then more, it only makes them look like jerks.

I was relieved at the humor and willingness on the parts of both Palin and SNL to have her on. Both were good sports, and viewers clearly agreed.

I enjoyed the Palin skits but I was disappointed that Palin and Tina Fey didn't stand next to each other for a short skit. The two have a phenomenol resemblance and that would have made for a very funny show. Perhaps a skit showing the two trading places to fool the teacher in a middle school setting would have been hilarious.

Palin is a lot better looking than Fey, bud, at least when Fey tries to look like Palin. I noticed that when they were on stage together briefly. The actress herself might not have wanted to face Palin alone.

p.m.,
I think Tina Fey is above that. Women aren't as vain as they are usually portrayed.

There, that's better...

I found the Palin skits to be quite boring and underwhelming. Sarah Palin's "skills" were not accentualized as it seems they didn't want her to say "the wrong thing." I am not sure whether that mandate came from Lorne Michaels or the Grand Olds, though.
White people rapping exaggeratedly as some socially acceptable mistrel show? Wasn't that form of humor as tired as a day laborer come midnight when In Living Color was still airing new episodes?
I will give her credit for agreeing to go on SNL, helping them to continue jumping the shark and for being a good sport, though my cynicism also spurs me to wonder if that appearance would have occurred if not for the GOP's desperate position; the same could be suggested of McCain's rescheduled Letterman appearance.
Let the woman talk! Her molasses-entangled accent and Kodiak-colored mannerisms are her funniest traits. As far as beauty is concerned, I guess she is "hot" to middle and upper classed, sexually repressed white guys, but I don't see the attraction. Larry Flynt seems to have already fixed that particular Palin problem, though.
With that said, I'll leave you boys to your googling.

How did you fix that, Randy?

Oooooo! Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on how SNL got Palin and what really happened when Tina met Sarah. You can read all about it here.

I scrolled through the posts to the last one that wasn't crooked and noticed that the one from the Grand Link Master, Cakora, ended with italics. I concluded GLM didn't use the end italics code so I posted it.

Our politics may be crossed, but I salute your de-italicization of this thread, Randy.
Bravo.
